Boundless Trust

There’s a bird that’s flying softly through the pages in my book
And he weaves between the leaves. He doesn’t even have to look.
The bird is called “Forever” and the book, “My Burning Love”.
And the bird would fly through the highest sky to worlds above.
Yes, the bird would fly through the highest sky to worlds above.
I see it all around me: children starved for love.
Adults treating them like adults, that’s what they get plenty of.
And I see the feeling growing in the look in their eyes.
It says,”I’m all alone in this great big world. It’s up to me to live or die.”
It says,”I’m all alone in this great big world. It’s up to me to live or die.”
Someday I hope they meet their love, find a home for their Boundless Trust
Though doubts will shake their new-found faith as sure as their memories must.
They’ll say “I found a home for my Boundless Trust like a lone bird finds her nest
And this one, My Beloved, is not like all the rest.”
No, this one, My Beloved, is not like all the rest.”
If I disappoint you. If I cause you pain.
Know that I try to comfort you the very best way I can.
But if I cause a foul-up and teeter and tip your trust.
Know that I didn’t mean to hurt you, or my heart will turn to dust.
Oh, know that I didn’t mean it my heart will turn to dust.
