What’s the use of trying if we’re goin’ down the drain.

Those evil corporations with pockets full of jack

Have 50 million lawyers who knew that I would crack.

I’m gonna give up.

My claws have been removed.

I swear I will believe the words: “new and improved”.

And I won’t ask The March Of Time to shift into reverse.

You can’t stop progress as it goes from bad to worse.

By God, this time I will

Even though the Mississippi’s turning into swill

The air I breathe is smelling like your average toxic dump.

After 40 years of fighting this, I’m feelin’ like a chump.

(We’re lookin’ for a savior and we get a guy like Trump)

Someone else can take my place.

When no one’s looking, I can slip away without a trace.

Things get better naturally when left to happenstance.
