Short Visit

It was a short visit

But there was much plunder .

We got a lot since we arrived.

It was a short visit

But it’s no wonder.

We’ve outgrown the world and there’s no larger size.

It was a short visit

From the cave to the city.

How high to rise. How low can we fall.

It was a short visit

But there’s no room for pity.

We’re lucky to have been here at all.

Now I’ve heard it said

By some among us

Who really believe that Man can pull us through.

They say,”Man can do it

He’s up to it.”

Well, I hope they’re right and I hope that it’s true.

Cuz meanwhile, upwind from here,

There’s a nuclear reactor

And some say it’s as dangerous as can be.

And the man that built it and the man that worked on it and the man who approved it:

Some bad actor,

Hidin’ the truth from his family.

So tell us the truth

Tell us all the facts

Make it plain,  crystal clear.

Cuz a man who knows is a man who acts.

And plenty of people are waitin’ to hear.
